As a not-for-proit organization, Pet Guards relies heavily on volunteers to help care for our animals. We are always in need of volunteers to:
- Care for the animals by petting and playing with them.
- Groom cats.
- Help feed and water cats.
- Clean up after the cats.
- Clerical support, such as writing thank you notes, drafting letters, filing, running errands, completing paperwork and answering phones.
- Fundraising.
- Building maintenance: Our facilities can always use some TLC to help accommodate the animals in all weather conditions and at all levels of illness.
- Fostering animals: The amount of animals in need is staggering. When the shelter is full, we rely on foster "parents" to help us house and care for the animals. Fosters need to have been volunteers for at least six months.
